Here Are BLACKPINK’s Many Pre-Debut Activities That Prove They Were Born To Be Stars

Jisoo was so busy!

BLACKPINK may now be one of the largest K-Pop groups, but they also started from the beginning—as trainees. For over half a decade, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa trained in YG Entertainment.

Thanks to their intense classes, they became trainees to look out for. Their numerous pre-debut content prove it. Check them out below!

1. Jisoo

Jisoo is the actress of BLACKPINK as she appeared in various commercials before debut. The title “CF Queen” belongs to her! Brands from Naver to Samsonite to LG and more all cast her for their promotions. One of her commercials even hit it big with iKONICs as she acted in a 2-minute video with iKON.

When it comes to shows, her appearance in The Producers was short and sweet, and she even got to act alongside 2NE1‘s Sandara Park and WINNER‘s Seungyoon.

She also had an emotional music video appearance in EPIK HIGH‘s 2014 song “Spoiler + Happen Ending”

Girlfriend roles really fit her best! She was the partner of iKON’s Bobby in HI SUHYUN‘s debut music video “I’m Different”.

Lastly, she had various modelling gigs such with Smart Uniforms.

2. Jennie

Among everyone in BLACKPINK, Jennie had the most music related pre-debut activities. She had a solo video that showed off her singing and rap…

…a music video appearance in G-Dragon‘s “That XX”…

…and even a vocal feature in G-Dragon’s “BLACK” and Seungri‘s “GG BE”. She was the best-known trainee in YG Entertainment during her time.

3. Rosé

Jennie is not the only trainee who featured in G-Dragon’s songs. Rosé proved she’s main vocalist material in his side track “Without You” from his extended play One of a Kind.

4. Lisa

Finally, maknae Lisa had a background music video appearance in Taeyang‘s “Ringa Linga” with WINNER and iKON. While it’s difficult to spot her in the video, she still showed off her powerful dance moves.

She also modeled in YG Entertainment’s clothing brand NONAGON.

As trainees, BLACKPINK had a popular dance practice video that proved they’re idols to look out for. It was released on July 6, 2016, one month before their debut.
