#RespectLisa trended around the world last year as BLINKs and others tweeted out their support for BLACKPINK’s Lisa, who was on the receiving end of some hurtful comments. The comments were regarding her choice of outfit on the first day of the 33rd Golden Disc Awards
Some of the comments focused primarily on her Thai background and used that to shame her. In particular, they said that she was only attractive because of Korean makeup and underneath she was just an average Thai woman.
Outraged by these comments, BLINKs came out in force in support for Lisa.

A Thai youth orchestra even made a tribute to BLACKPINK and Lisa to support her.

GOT7’s BamBam was recently being interviewed by a Thai news source and he was asked about the Lisa Situation.
Yes I heard the news! Actually, I am a friend of Lisa so I already contacted her to give my support. Actually, this issue isn’t a big deal because it originated only from a few people, just like 10 people, so it won’t impact Lisa.
Because she more has people who love and support her. I’ve known Lisa since before debut so I know her well. She has a good heart, is cheerful and has a good attitude
Even if some people haven’t noticed that yet, time will prove her good heart and nature. Lisa knows about all the love and support, she asked me to say this to her fans, if I got a chance. She wanted to say thank you for all the love and support
He was also asked if he had experienced any racism himself. He said that he and that it’s common for Thai idols but he just disregards it usually.
Everyone was overjoyed to hear such support from Lisa’s friend.
Stfu bambam was so ready to fight those haters if lisa told him she's not fine, u dont mess up with his best friend u fucker!!!
