The American Remake of “Parasite” Will Dig Deeper Into Min Hyuk and Yeon Kyo’s Peculiar Relationship

There’s more going on between Park Seo Joon and Cho Yeo Jeong’s characters than what the film portrayed.

Director Bong Joon Ho spoke with The Movie Report, where he revealed that the American remake of his film, Parasite will reveal more details into Min Hyuk (Park Seo Joon) and Yeon Kyo’s (Cho Yeo Jeong) relationship.

In the film, Min Hyuk is a friend of Ki Woo’s (Choi Woo Shik) who introduces him to a wealthy family to be their new tutor.

 

When describing the family and the job, Min Hyuk said, “She’s, how would you say it? She’s simple. Young and simple. Anyway, she’s nice. I liked her.

 

And when Yeon Kyo first met Ki Woo, she described Min Hyuk by expressing, “Min Hyuk is so brilliant. Both me and Da Hye were highly satisfied with him regardless of Da Hye’s grades. Ugh, I really liked him.

 

Regarding their peculiar relationship, Bong Joon Ho revealed that there indeed is a subtle nuance between the two characters and that he couldn’t go into in-depth due to the length of the movie.
