YMC Makes A Statement Regarding Wanna One’s Potential Contract Extension

Currently, their contract is set to expire on December 31, 2018.

YMC Entertainment has responded to reports that Wanna One would have their contracts extended by 2 months, to February 2019.

In a report, it was revealed that Wanna One would likely have their group contract extended to February 2019. The reasoning behind this was so the group could attend awards shows that occur in 2019, such as the Golden Disc Awards and the Gaon Music Chart Awards.

In response to this, YMC Entertainment said there was a proposal to move Wanna One’s final concerts to January, but nothing is set in stone.

“It’s true that we proposed Wanna One’s final concerts before their disbandment to be in January instead of December as currently scheduled. But that was only a proposal and there has been no further discussion on it.”

They also confirmed the reports about Wanna One having their contracts extended to February were false.

“There is no possibility of Wanna One disbanding in February. If by chance there is a contract extension, it will only be for January. A contract extension will not be because of year-end awards shows.”

It is not easy to extend Wanna One’s contract length as each member’s agency has a contract with both YMC Entertainment and CJ E&M. Wanna One’s group contract is scheduled to end on December 31, 2018.
