In her most recent Instagram post, former Wonder Girls member-turned-soloist Sunmi revealed a photo of a brightly but highly medically taped right knee, causing fans to worry about the state of her health.
The singer’s photo was captioned with nothing other than four “facepalm” emojis.
Fans flocked to the post’s comment section, with many of the responses filled with concern for the singer’s health.
This isn’t a new issue for the 28-year-old singer. Last June, she posted a photo on her Instagram showing images of bruised knees, saying they’re “always bruised” due to the nature of her profession. Speculation regarding her injuries shows that they date back to earlier in her solo career, possibly all the way back to her solo debut “24 Hours.”
Similar bruises or injuries that seem to verify the ongoing condition can be seen on different live stages as well, including this performance of her most recent song “LALALAY” from this past fall:
Despite this, the singer seems to be sticking to her broadcast schedule. Just a few days ago, she appeared on the web entertainment show Real World, where she trades her idol status for that of a fan. She is also still set to appear as the MC for her first talk show Sunmi’s Video Shop, premiering tomorrow at 11 pm on KBS.
As of now, neither Makeus Entertainment, Sunmi’s company, nor the singer herself have made official statements about the status of her apparent knee injury or her health in general. Regardless of her present condition, we will continue to send nothing but wishes of good health to Sunmi.
