ARMY Have The Best Theory To What’s Actually Happening In PSY And BTS Suga’s “That That”

It’s all to do with the iconic track “Gangnam Style!”

After waiting for what seems like forever (even though it’s only been a matter of days), ARMY couldn’t contain their excitement when the music video for PSY‘s track “That That” with BTS‘s Suga was released. As expected, the duo are iconic AF, and it isn’t surprising that the track is the talk of the internet.

In particular, the music video has sent netizens into meltdown as PSY and Suga cemented just how epic they are in a video that combines comedy, story-telling, and intense choreography.

Yet, although the music video seems fun and random on the surface, it seems like there could be a much deeper meaning behind the track.

One of the first things ARMY noticed was the lyrics in Suga’s rap. It is well-known that whenever Suga writes any lyrics, they always have a special meaning behind them and are written with a lot of thought, and this track is no exception.

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,
Haters gonna hate, players gonna play,
That’s enough.

It seems as if although Suga explained that what doesn’t kill you makes you strong, the topic of death is something ARMY noticed in the video, even if it was more metaphorical.

Although PSY has been in the K-Pop industry for decades, it is impossible not to recognize the impact of his track “Gangnam Style” on his global popularity. It seems as if PSY can’t go anywhere without being reminded of this hit song.

Well, PSY might be trying to move away from “Gangnam Style” and has showcased it through the video.

During the music video, PSY and Suga are fighting next to a car, and although it seems like a fun part of the video, there might be more context to it. Netizens noticed that PSY’s suit was similar to the one worn in “Gangnam Style.”

After the fight, PSY is lying on Suga and singing, but he has blood coming out of his mouth before he seems to lose consciousness.

Many netizens believed that this was an indirect way of PSY, saying that he wanted to put that era of his career behind him and start a new stage. In particular, PSY wants to resurrect his career and make it something new, not something overshadowed by one of the biggest songs in K-Pop.

If that wasn’t enough, ARMYs thought the scene with Suga was done on purpose, all because of Agust D.

In the music video for “Daechwita,” Agust D has two personas. According to Suga, the blonde-haired Agust D has the name “Rage,” and the black-haired Agust D’s name will be revealed in a later track.

At the end of the song, Agust D, with black hair, is seen taking a gun and shooting his counterpart, which many ARMYs thought signified moving on to a new era.

Taking all this into consideration, ARMYs believe that Suga might be trying to help PSY do the same in this video by helping the world move on from “Gangnam Style.” It is a way of putting the old PSY away from the world and introducing them to the new phase of his career.

As expected, PSY and Suga created something which wasn’t only really fun to watch but had ARMYs coming up with deeper theories. Whether it’s true or not will depend on PSY, but hopefully, someone will clarify the theories soon.
