Netizens Mistake MONSTA X’s Joohoney For “Squid Game” Actor Lee Jung Jae’s Son

We certainly wish Lee Jung Jae had a son! 😏

Netflix‘s Squid Game has got us all obsessed. While we didn’t expect to fall in love with any of the cast, knowing that we couldn’t form attachments since many contestants would get killed, we still did.

You probably think we’re talking about young cast members like Jung Ho Yeon. Well, yes, but, right now, we mean lead actor Lee Jung Jae because he has totally captured our hearts in his role of Seong Gi Hun.

Like, there’s just something about that rugged look, if you know we mean. How can you not love him?

Especially if you’ve seen him in any of his other roles, you know just how handsome he really is. Just take, for instance, the 2014 film Big Match. Clearly, the man takes care of himself.

Still, for many of us, the age gap might be just a bit too much. He is an actual middle-aged man, after all, as he’s literally 48-year-old. So, if he were to have a son half his age, that would be great.

Well, some netizens seem to believe he does have a son, although a Google search will tell you otherwise. He has neither son nor daughter, sorry.

Young Lee Jung Jae.

Yet, photos are circulating the internet of Lee Jung Jae with MONSTA X‘s Joohoney, causing some to mistake the rapper as the actor’s son.

This came about when a Monbebe (fan of MONSTA X) DokiMonbebe (@monbebepolska on TikTok) shared a video, participating in a new TikTok trend that features BLACKPINK Lisa‘s “Money” playing with Victor (@yoongitea2 on TikTok) dances Jessi‘s “Who Dat B” choreography over photos of an attractive celebrity.

In the video, DokiMonbebe jokingly referred to Lee Jung Jae and Joohoney as “Dad” and “Son,” respectively. They even included photos of the two together as “evidence.” So, naturally, some fell for the joke and soon flooded the comments, asking if Joohoney was truly Lee Jung Jae’s son.

Soon, the comments became balanced, with many fans following along with the joke, saying it is all true. Many even helped create an explanation as to why Joohoney never mentions his famous father, such as saying that “he wanted to make a name for himself.”

The real story behind the picture is that of two fans of one another meeting each other. Joohoney shared the photos on November 29 of last year on MONSTA X’s official Twitter account after taking a photo together at the 2020 Asian Artist Awards.

I finally met my high school sunbae, ‘Lee Jung Jae’ sunbaenim and it was an honor! It was amazing!

They do have enough in common that might cause one to believe they’re related… They’re equally handsome and talented—Atlas, they are not.
