Korean Mom Arrested For Smuggling Marijuana To Save Her 4 Year Old Son’s Life

She broke the law to save her son’s life.

A young mother attempted to smuggle marijuana into Korea to help treat her son, who has been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor.

Marijuana is known for its healing and pain-relief properties and has been prescribed as medication in countries such as Canada and the United States. However, it is illegal to possess, sell, or use marijuana in South Korea.

The mother was caught and arrested by a police officer working undercover as a delivery man.

Prosecutors in the case asked for a 1.5 year prison sentence, as well as a 3 year probation, but the court eventually sentenced her to 6 months on probation after taking into account that her actions were caused by her son’s sickness.
