On the April 6 episode of Joe Budden’s podcast, The Joe Budden Podcast, he recapped the GRAMMY Awards and revealed his feelings about BTS by saying, “I hate them BTS n***as.”

When his co-hosts, Ice and Ish, told him he was “wildin'” and asked why he hated BTS, Joe Budden asked if he needed a reason to hate them. His co-hosts told him that BTS’s music was actually good, but he doubled down on his hatred of BTS. He also mistakenly said that BTS was from China.

I don’t want to hear that s**t. I don’t want to see them dance moves. I don’t want to see you come down from the sky in a little umbrella. I don’t want to see your four f***ing codies come from the audience and then link up like Voltron to do all of the 98 Degrees moves. I don’t want to see none of that s**t. I don’t want to see it. I know they big, I know it’s China, I don’t want to see it.

When his co-hosts reminded him that BTS was actually from South Korea, Joe Budden referred to them as Korea*NSYNC, which was a reference to the American boy band *NSYNC. Then, he wondered out loud why people can’t hate popular music acts without giving a reason why. He asked, “Why do y’all think that because a group is big or an act is big, and they’re talented that you can’t hate them?”

Once again, his co-hosts stated that he should be able to point to a reason for hating BTS if he was going to hate them. They stated that it was “disgusting” to hate someone for no reason.

When ARMYs found out about what Joe Budden said on his podcast, they took to Twitter to express their disapproval of his comments.

Meanwhile, Joe Budden has also taken to Twitter to make jokes about BTS and state that he won’t be “bullied” out of his opinion.
