This Female Idol Group Is Selling Their Used “Bath Water” As Official Goods For $900

“You can drink it or add a little to your own tub and feel like you’re taking a bath together with the idols.”

A Japanese idol group, called The Banana Monkeys, are under high scrutiny after they decided to sell used bath water to their fans.

Members Tenka no Chanyuki and Asuka Rei decided to take a bath, where they turned the water purple by using a bath powder.

They then bottled up the water and sell it to their fans as official goods.

To top it all off, one bottle costs 100,000 yen (~$900 USD)!

Their agency explained that the bath water is selling for such a high price because the bath bomb they used was particularly expensive. They even told the fans that it was “definitely clean” water that “you can drink” or bath in so it “feels like you’re taking a bath together with the idols.”

“It’s water that idols soaked in, so it’s definitely clean. You can drink it or add a little to your own tub and feel like you’re taking a bath together with the idols.”

This isn’t the first time The Banana Monkeys were caught in a controversial “fan service”. They were previously criticized for kissing fans, giving massages to shirtless fans, and more.

The members released a video where they explained the whole process of their used bath water.
