INFINITE’s Sunggyu Shares His Thoughts On Performing In Musical “Gwanghwamun Sonata”

He hopes viewers will make good memories.

INFINITE’s Sunggyu has changed roles and participated in the musical Gwanghwamun Sonata for a new season. Recently, he attended the press call for the musical and shared his thoughts about his role.

He said, “Before going to the military, I took on the role of young Myungwoo, and after being discharged, I took on the role of Wolha. At first I was so nervous that I couldn’t even remember how I finished the performance. I am grateful for the support of many people.” He continued, “I performed with a grateful heart because so many people supported me. These days, it’s not easy for audiences to come to the theater, so thanks to the audience, I was able to perform to the best of my ability.”

When asked which role suits him better, he answered cautiously, “I’m doing Wolha right now, so I think Wolha suits me better.” He also hoped that viewers would receive good energy after coming to a show, “It’s a difficult time for everyone and for me as well. I hope you forget the difficult times and come to the performance and have warm thoughts and make good memories. I hope you all stay strong and happy.”

The musical successfully opened on July 16 at the Seoul Arts Center Opera Theater and will continue until September 5.
