Here’s How YG Entertainment “Fixed” BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” MV’s “Disrespectful” Use Of Indian God Ganesha

YG Entertainment finally decided to do something to fix the MV’s controversy.

BLACKPINK recently made their comeback with their single “How You Like That” last June 26.

Naturally, BLINKs worldwide were extremely excited as they admired BLACKPINK’s visuals in their teaser images…

…and they were ecstatic when the song’s music video finally dropped to showcase BLACKPINK’s talents in the performance arts.

However, one element of the music video was not taken well by the fans, as the music video and YG Entertainment were under fire by the Indian fans for allegedly disrespecting their culture and religion.

The concern of the Indian BLINKs was seen during Lisa‘s solo shots. At first glance, everything may seen fine, since Lisa’s simply sitting on a throne, but open closer inspection, fans started to realize that there was a statue of the Hindu deity Ganesha next to her — and it was wrongfully placed on the floor.

Ganesha is an elephant-headed Hindu god of beginnings, who is traditionally worshiped before any major enterprise. He is also the patron of intellectuals, bankers, scribes, and authors.

Because of this, BLINKs worldwide started to trend #Ganesha and #YGapologise to demand an apology and an action from YG Entertainment to hopefully correct the issue.

Now, even though the agency has not released any official statement, as of this writing, fans started to realize that YG Entertainment chose to edit the music video to resolve the concerns of the Indian fans.

Thankfully, they were able to edit and re-upload the video without affecting the video’s analytics.

Fans are pleased that they were able to make a difference by contacting the agency.
