“Global Citizen Live” CEO Reveals His Thoughts On BTS’s First-Ever Participation On The Show

“BTS literally will inspire an entire region — and the world.”

Global Citizen Live, which is a 24-hour global event to unite the world to defend the planet and defeat poverty, will feature artists and leaders from six continents around the world on September 25.

The show just revealed the first lineup for artists performing and BTS is one of them! Other artists that will be performing include Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Lizzo, Shwan Mendes, Camila Cabello, and more.

Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans stated, “There’s going to be live audiences around the world. So we will have a full 60,000 audience in Central Park.”

In terms of BTS joining the special, Evans commented, “BTS literally will inspire an entire region — and the world.”

He continued, “They’re not just one of the world’s greatest K-pop acts, they’re one of the world’s greatest artists, period. And I think their career has shown that they have such an incredibly epic reach that inspires people to participate. So the fact that they’re going to be so involved in Global Citizen Live in such a big way is incredible.”

Further updates regarding the second lineup of artists will be revealed on August 6.
