BTS’s “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~The Journey~” Becomes Most Sold Album In Japan This Year

Congrats to BTS!

BTS has made history again with their 4th Japanese album. According to Japan’s Oricon chart, BTS’s MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~THE JOURNEY~, which was released on July 15, sold 447,869 copies on the first day on the daily chart.

This number is more than twice the amount of sales they made in 2018 for their third Japanese album FACE YOURSELF. These numbers show the continuous popularity and growth of BTS in Japan.

This is not only the new record for a foreign artist, but it is the most sold album out of all the artists in Japan for this year.

This new album made a huge hit on the Worldwide iTunes Top Album chart with it ranking number 1 in 81 countries right after its release. “Your Eyes Tell”, which was composed by Jungkook, also ranked number 1 on the Top Song Chart in 93 countries.

Previously, BTS released “Stay Gold” and ranked number 1 in 84 countries on the iTunes Top Song Chart, number 9 on the U.S. Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, and number 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart.

This new album includes “Stay Gold”, “Your Eyes Tell”, “ON”, “Black Swan” and more for a total of 13 tracks.
