BTS’s “Map Of The Soul: 7” Was “Robbed” Of GRAMMY Nominations, Say Fans

The album was not nominated for a GRAMMY.

BTS received their first GRAMMY nomination today, but MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 did not get the recognition it deserves, according to fans.

On November 24, GRAMMY.com announced the 2021 list of nominees in a live broadcast. BTS’s hit single “Dynamite” is nominated for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” alongside “Un Dia (One Day)” by J Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, and Tainy, “Intentions” by Justin Bieber (feat. Quavo), “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande, and “Exile” by Taylor Swift (feat. Bon Iver).

BTS is now the first K-Pop act in history to receive a nomination in a major GRAMMYs category. In addition to “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance”, “Dynamite” was also entered to be nominated for “Song of the Year”, “Record of the Year”, and “Best Music Video”.

BTS’s album MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 was entered to be nominated for “Album of the Year”, “Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical”, and “Best Pop Vocal Album”, but it did not receive a nomination.

Shortly after the news broke, fans began trending GRAMMY related phrases and hashtags to celebrate BTS’s achievement.

One trending topic in particular, however, pointed to the GRAMMYs snubbing artists, including BTS.

Although fans are elated about BTS’s nomination, but some still feel that “Dynamite” and MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 deserved more nominations, including one for “Album of the Year”.
