Update: BTS Confirmed To Perform With Lil Nas X At The 2020 GRAMMY Awards

This makes BTS the first Korean artist to ever perform at the GRAMMY Awards!

Yesterday, Variety reported on speculation that BTS would perform at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards with Lil Nas X. Today, the news has been confirmed on the GRAMMY website, making BTS the first Korean artist to ever perform at the GRAMMYs!

As part of the award show’s signature “GRAMMY moments”, two special stages have been announced for this weekend’s show. One is a tribute to a famed producer; the other is “Old Town Road All-Stars”—a star studded performance featuring numerous artists who have participated in the song and its remixes.

Last year, BTS’s RM featured on “Seoul Town Road”, the final remix released for the song. Now, BTS will be joining Lil Nas X as part of the “All-Stars” stage, which is set to be a “one-of-a-kind performance”. Other artists confirmed for the performance include Billy Ray Cyrus and Diplo.

Just hours before the announcement from the GRAMMYs, Ariana Grande uploaded a photo of herself with BTS (minus Suga, whose whereabouts is still unknown), who she met when she bumped into them at rehearsals.

Since the star-studded photo didn’t include Lil Nas X, some ARMYs are speculating that BTS could have been rehearsing for a surprise solo performance at the ceremony on Sunday January 26. Regardless of whether BTS get their own stage, ARMYs are already excited to see them wow the crowd and get more exposure.

Plus, the members have always wanted to perform at the GRAMMYs.

The performance comes as part of a special weekend for BTS and ARMYs. After their performance at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards, the group is set to perform at iHeartRadio Live on January 27 as well The Late Late Show with James Corden on January 28.
