Black Panther Cast Spills on Crying Korean Fans, Unique Korean Fandom Nicknames, and More

The cast of “Black Panther” made a special visit to Seoul to dish on what they think about their Korean fans.

The cast of the latest Marvel blockbuster “Black Panther” recently held their movie premier in Seoul. As part of their press tour, they did a live interview on with Eric Nam as the host.

Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jorden, Lupita Nyong’o, and director Ryan Coogler dished on their experiences in Korea.

 

When asked if they were was a memorable fan, Chadwick remembered a few people crying.

“It was a couple people crying…that was overwhelming to me…I was like, ‘I’m not Michael Jackson.'” — Chadwick Boseman

 

Part of the movie takes place in Busan, South Korea which the cast and director touched on as well.

Eric also walked them through the special nicknames that Korean Marvel fandom has made for the actors as well. Boseman was already aware of his title as “Busan Panther”. They also call him “Kitty Emperor” and “Silver Spoon of Vibranium”.

 

For Lupita, fans call her “Single-Tone Goddess” for her iconic, bold color looks.

 

Michael was particularly in love with his nickname, “Ma-Presence-Handsome” which means extremely good looking.

 

Alongside their interviews and press conferences, the cast took the time to interact with their Korean fans as they gave out signatures and selfies.

 

They even mastered the Korean “finger heart”!

“Black Panther” currently has the most ticket sales at the box office in Seoul.
