In 2021, Himchan was convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to 10 months in prison along with 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program. These charges stem from accusations made in 2018 by a woman in her 20s during a retreat. Initially, Himchan denied all accusations and maintained no molestation took place.

He later admitted his guilt in appeals court, stating “I admit to all of it”, overturning the denials of the charges he had made thus far.

In the midst of this case, Himchan was also involved in an accident that was the result of drunk driving, just a day after a song release. It was reported that he was so drunk that his license could have been revoked immediately.

Most recently, Himchan was accused of sexually assaulting two different women, just days after his admittance of guilt. According to prosecutors, in April 2022, Himchan assaulted the two women in the outside stair case of a bar. The women are said to have reported the assault to police within a few hours after the assault.

According to the alleged victims, Himchan was drunk during this incident as well.

Immediately after the incident occurred, we were so mad we complained to the owner. The owner then called a cab and sent Himchan, who was drunk, home. Soon after, we read Himchan was facing trial for a similar incident. We are concerned that there will be other victims.
