Brand New Music has confirmed that Park Woojin received surgery for his injury, and will be focusing on rehabilitation.

Hello, this is Brand New Music.

We would like to inform you about the injury suffered by our artist, AB6IX member Park Woojin.

The injury occurred while Park Woojin was carrying out a schedule on November 16. After receiving first aid on site, we moved to a hospital for tests and additional treatment. The exact diagnosis of his injury to his right knee is a torn right knee cartilage.

After the diagnosis, a doctor conducted a in-depth examination of the injury site, and then proceeded with the surgery. Right now, he is working on stabilizing and recovering from the surgery, and will rest for the time being to focus on managing his health and recovering from his injury.

We will do our best to help Park Woojin recovery and rehabilitate his injury. Starting from today, AB6IX schedules such as the 2019 Brand New Year concert will be as 4 members, while Park Woojin rests.

We will give further notice for other schedules for AB6IX. We would like to ask for the understanding of the fans for Park Woojin’s absence, and we ask for the fans to pray for Park Woojin’s health and recovery.

We will always do our best to protect the health of our artists.

Depending on the severity of the injury and the type of surgery undergone, recovery from a torn knee cartilage can take 3-4 weeks for a meniscectomy, or 3-4 months for a full meniscus repair.
