This fun song and dance inspired flash mob events, which the Wonder Girls highlighted in the song’s music video. The song had a total of 1,444,339 downloads.
9. SISTAR’s “Give It to Me”- 2013
SISTAR‘s “Give It to Me” was released on their second and final studio album of the same name. The song had a Moulin Rogue-style concept and had 812,688 total downloads.
The song has made a resurgence on TikTok recently where creators are hilariously relating to the line, “Will I ever get married before I’m thirty?”
8. Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips”- 2014
BIGBANG‘s Taeyang released this instant hit about memories of a past lover. “Eyes, Nose, Lips” was the second-best performing song in 2014.
The song had a total of 765,833 downloads.
7. BIGBANG’s “Bang Bang Bang”- 2015
BIGBANG’s song “Bang Bang Bang” was released on their third Korean language album, MADE. The song won “Song of the Year” at the 2015 Melon Music Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards, and “Best Song Award” at the 2016 Seoul Music Awards.
With a total of 1,581,284 streams, it was the best performing song of 2015.
6. Urban Zakapa’s “I Don’t Love You”- 2016
The R&B singer-songwriting trio Urban Zakapa sings from the point of view of someone falling out of love in their song “I Don’t Love You.” The song inspired many covers from fellow K-Pop artists, including (G)I-DLE, Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, and Gummy with WINNER‘s Yoon.
The song had a total of 1,613,745 downloads.
5. G-Dragon’s “Untitled, 2014”- 2017
“Untitled 2014” was the lead single off of G-Dragon‘s self-titled EP. The song achieved a perfect “all-kill” after its release and was one of the best-charting songs of the year.
“Untitled 2014” had a total of 555,587 downloads.
4. BOL4’s “Travel”- 2018
BOL4 (also known as Bolbbalgan4) released “Travel” and sang of the feeling of freedom traveling can bring you.
The fun summer hit had a total of 1,901,051 downloads.
3. Anne-Marie’s “2002”- 2019
The British singer’s hit song “2002” topped Korean song charts in 2019. Anne-Marie even attended the 2019 V Heartbeat Awards in Korea.
The song was downloaded a total of 2,500,000 times and was the best performing single of 2019.
2. IU featuring Suga’s “Eight”- 2020
“Eight” topped the Gaon Digital Charts for both May and June in 2020. The track performed by IU featured Suga, who also produced the song. “Eight” won “Best Collaboration” at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards and “Song of the Year” at the 2021 Gaon Chart Music Awards.
The song had a total of 822,502,029 aggregate points on the year-end Gaon charts.
1. BTS’s “Butter”- 2021
BTS’s second English language single, “Butter,” was a global success. The song won over 25 awards at major awards shows, including “Song of the Year” at the 2021 Asia Music Awards, E! People’s Choice Awards, Melon Music Awards, Mnet Asian Music Awards, and Gaon Chart Music Awards.
“Butter” sold over three million copies and earned BTS their second GRAMMY nomination.
