In real life, Wolmi Theme Park is a much more wholesome place. Visitors have described the theme park as very quiet during the week, and you might even have a chance to have the park to yourself for a few hours! Admission to Wolmi Theme Park is free, but you do have to pay to ride the rides.

2. Kyodong Elementary School

Kyodong Elementary School is located in Seoul. The school was opened in 1894, and it is the oldest elementary school in South Korea.

Kyodong Elementary School was used in the opening shot of Squid Game. In the very first scene of the K-Drama, a boy presumed to be young Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) played the children’s game “squid game” with other boys from his neighborhood.

3. Deokjeok Island and Guleop Island

The island used in Squid Game was Seongap Island in Incheon.

SeongapK Island is private land, so it is not open to tourists. However, tourists can visit the neighboring islands Deokjeok and Guleop. These islands boast gorgeous beaches, and Deokjeok even hosts a music festival every summer!

Kang Sae Byeok (Jung Ho Yeon) mentioned in episode 6 that she would go to Jeju Island if she won the prize money. She said that she wanted to visit Jeju because it looked “exotic and nothing like Korea.”

Jeju Island is truly just as gorgeous as Sae Byeok thought it would be. While visiting the island, tourists can see South Korea’s highest mountain, gorgeous beaches, volcanic craters, and a very NSFW adult theme park called Loveland.
