7. “Penthouse 3” – Um Ki Joon & Kim So Yeon
With 6 votes, SBS‘s Penthouse 3 stars Um Ki Joon and Kim So Yeon were ranked the 7th-best K-Drama couple of 2021 by industry insiders.
Penthouse centered on a group of wealthy families who found themselves entangled in a murder investigation. Um Ki Joon played Joo Dan Tae, an antagonist willing to kill anyone who stood in the way of his financial success. Kim So Yeon, meanwhile, played villainess Cheon Seo Jin, who would do anything for power and pride.
6. “Beyond Evil” – Shin Ha Kyun & Yeo Jin Goo
With 8 votes, JTBC‘s Beyond Evil stars Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo were ranked the joint 5th-best K-Drama couple of 2021 by industry insiders.
Beyond Evil is centered on two policemen determined to catch a serial killer, even if that means breaking the law. Shin Ha Kyun played Lee Dong Sik, an impulsive police officer who was once a skilled detective. Yeo Jin Goo, meanwhile, played Han Joo Won a handsome, successful detective with a lot of influence.
5. “Youth of May” – Lee Do Hyun & Go Min Si
With 8 votes, KBS2‘s Youth of May stars Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si were ranked the joint 5th-best K-Drama couple of 2021 by industry insiders.
Youth of May centered on the lives of people involved in a complicated relationship during the Gwangju Uprising in 1980. Lee Do Hyun played Hwang Hee Tae, an ambitious and mischievous medical student who is carefree and fun on the outside but thoughtful and loving on the inside. Go Min Si, meanwhile, played Kim Myeong Hee, a determined and fearless nurse who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself.
4. “Hospital Playlist 2” – Kim Dae Myung & Ahn Eun Jin
With 14 votes, tvN‘s Hospital Playlist 2 stars Kim Dae Myung and Ahn Eun Jin were ranked the 4th-best K-Drama couple of 2021 by industry insiders.
Hospital Playlist 2 centered on the lives of five successful and talented doctors that have been each other’s best friends since they enrolled in the same medical school. Kim Dae Myung played Yang Seok Hyeong, an excellent assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology who is quite shy and introverted. Ahn Eun Jin, meanwhile, played Chu Min Ha, a chief resident in obstetrics and gynecology.
3. “Hospital Playlist 2” – Jo Jung Suk & Jeon Mi Do
With 18 votes, tvN’s Hospital Playlist 2 stars Jo Jung Suk and Jeon Mi Do were ranked the 3rd-best K-Drama couple of 2021 by industry insiders.
Jo Jung Suk played Lee Ik Jun, a talented and charismatic general surgeon who raises his young son as a single father. Jeon Mi Do, meanwhile, played Chae Song Hwa, a successful and kind neurosurgeon that always gets praised for her skills and personality by her colleagues.
2. “Vincenzo” – Song Joong Ki & Jeon Yeo Bin
With 20 votes, tvN’s Vincenzo stars Song Joong Ki and Jeon Yeo Bin were ranked the 7th-best K-Drama couple of 2021 by industry insiders.
Vincenzo centered on Soon Joong Ki’s character Park Joo Hyun, renamed Vincenzo Cassano, and his life as the adopted son of a late Italian mafia boss. Jeon Yeo Bin, meanwhile, played Hong Cha Young, an energetic lawyer who decides to help Vincenzo and his quest to destroy the Babel Group.
1. “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” – Kim Seon Ho & Shin Min Ah
And with a staggering 103 votes, tvN’s Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha stars Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah were ranked the 7th-best K-Drama couple of 2021 by industry insiders.
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha centered on the transition of Shin Min Ah’s character, Yoon Hye Jin, from a professional big city dentist to opening a small dental clinic in the seaside village of Gongjin. Kim Seon Ho played Hong Du Sik, a kind and helpful handyman who is willing to do any tedious tasks his neighbors need.
