Though many K-Pop idols choose to steer away from topics that are still considered controversial by some, others are now beginning to speak out in support, pointing out that, as role models, idols are in a unique position to show support and make a positive difference for those who need it.

There was actually an atmosphere of caution around idols speaking their minds around that time. But I thought I could say that anyway. Idols don’t just sing and dance on stage—they can also be role models for people, and someone who is always by their side for others.
