Anticipation heightens for “Infinite Challenge” after the SBS and KBS year-end festivals

The end of the year festivals are already well underway with the first part of the 2014 SBS Awards Festival, the SBS Gayo Daejeon having aired on December 21st, and the KBS Gayo Daechukjae which aired on December 26th.

While these two festivals and the upcoming MBC Gayo Daejejun have generated a lot of interest and anticipation, they have also been stricken with broadcasting problems.

The 2014 SBS Gayo Daejeon suffered from a script mistake which included one of the night’s MCs, WINNER’s Mino. Additionally, because the microphones of rookie girl group Lovelyz were left on immediately following their performance, the members of Lovelyz could be heard talking during the beginning of rookie male group WINNER’s performance.

Additionally, the 2014 KBS Gayo Daechukjae also suffered from broadcasting mistakes. These mistakes included music playing while the MCs were talking and cameras focusing on an empty stage instead of Apink during their performance.

Even with the end of the year awards shows receiving criticism for mistakes, Infinite Challenge‘s “Saturday Saturday Singers” is also garnering much interest, with the first act of “Saturday Saturday Singers” opening on December 27th (KST).

Much of the anticipation for “Saturday Saturday Singers” can be attributed to the performance set list, which includes singers who topped the charts back in the 90s. Artists that are scheduled to perform include Kim Gun Mo, Kim Hyun Jeong, So Chan Hwee, Jinusean, Lee Jeong Hyun, Jo Sung Mo, S.E.S, Turbo, and more. In addition, it was revealed that Girls’ Generation member Seohyun would be stepping in for Eugene as part of S.E.S for this year’s performance.

The performances are expected to give viewers a feeling comparable to a complete 90s experience, with the clothing, stage, and even the audience taking part in the transformation from 2014 to the 90s.

In addition, the 2014 MBC Gayo Daejejun is scheduled to air on December 31st at 8:55PM KST, which will allow the broadcast to continue into the New Year! The festival will feature 41 teams of artists split into five different categories.

What do you think of this year’s end of the year festivals?
